Job Description
Michael’s Greenhouses is a leading wholesale grower of annuals and perennials. We also offer an extensive line of Easter products, hardy mums and florist quality poinsettias.
Michael’s Greenhouses has been owned and operated by the Arisco family since 1969. We pride ourselves in serving independent garden centers & retail stores throughout the Northeast.
Our goal is to ensure that the quality of the product leaving our greenhouses and arriving at our customers is second to none. We continually strive to provide the highest quality plants in the industry and an excellent experience for our customers.
· Review and implement plant growing activities with Head Grower that are consistent with planned production schedules
· Monitor growing conditions in humidity, moisture, temperature and other cultivation procedures with to ensure conformance with quality control standards
· Prepare space required for planned production · Inspect crops’ physical development and monitor pests or disease to maintain quality standards · Apply fertilizers, and other controlled as required. 
· Assist in the development of growing procedures for new species and new cultivation techniques for existing crops
· Maintain records of growing and production techniques for future review identifying trends and forecasting space allocation needs
· Assist in training new employees in growing techniques and activities · Maintain a current knowledge of growing techniques and technologies
· Assists the Head Grower and performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements

To be successful in this position we ask for the following:
Education and or Work Experience Requirements:

*Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture preferred, or related field and 3+ years’ experience.

* 3-5 years related work experience (not including Cannabis production)

*Excellent plant knowledge

*Strong Managerial skills with the ability to train and work well with others.

*Computer skills to include the use of environmental control systems Irrigation equipment and the fundamental understanding of Heat and ventilation equipment.

*Proven relationship building skills.

*Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the position
