Accountabilities Summary:
The Base Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the safe execution, supervision and reporting of all aspects of Base installation and construction projects. This position reports to the Workforce Development Manager, supervises all crew members, interfaces with subcontractors, and coordinates with the Project Manager ensuring timely completion of projects. The Base Superintendent insures strict adherence to the Company Safety and Drug Free Workplace programs.

Key Activities:
• Manage all aspects of the project site including employee safety, quality control, crew assignments, production schedules, receiving of material and equipment deliveries
• Read and accurately interpret construction drawings; maintain up-to-date marked-up drawings
• Excavate and prepare project sites in preparation for concrete
• Install storm sewer systems, irrigation systems, and concrete curbing and flatwork
• Use cone and box lasers to establish grade on unfinished surfaces integrated with a laser guided box grader
• Operate skid-steer, telehandler and mini-excavator
• Planning and execution of tasks per the allotted budgets and timelines and in accordance with all plans and specifications and local codes
• Train project employees on tools, equipment and techniques required for the project
• Lead and motivate all crew members in a safe team environment of mutual respect and dedication to customer service and uncompromised quality
• Conduct tool box and jobsite safety meetings
• Responsible for all tools, equipment, trailers, and vehicles on project site
• Accurately complete daily project log, time sheets, inventory reports, delivery tickets, credit card receipts, etc. Collect and deliver all project documents to the Office
• Deal fairly and effectively with conflict and other personnel issues
• Attend safety training including Drugs & Alcohol, Red Cross, OSHA certified training
• Other work, including shop work, as directed by a Project Manager

Professional Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years experience in concrete work, base construction and installation
• Must have reliable means of transportation to/from the project site or shop, ability to drive Company vehicles, and a clean driving record
• Experience in concrete forming, installation and excavation, operation of heavy equipment, and knows how to build, level and excavate land surfaces using a variety of construction equipment
• Experience with site grading equipment to establish field grade
• Experience in facilitating meetings and organizing project activities preferred

• Knowledge of office software capabilities such as Email, Computer Ease, Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to conduct basic internet navigation activities
• Work demands may require irregular work schedules, long hours, weekends, etc.
• Frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Frequently exposed to fumes, dust, vibrations and will get “hands dirty”
• Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions at job sites
• Must lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds
• Overnight travel and travel out of State required
