Other duties include, but are not limited to:
a) ability to operate in a safe and efficient manner all walk-behind mowers, push mowers, string line trimmers, power edgers, back pack blowers, sickle mowers, snow blowers, and other assorted grounds care and/or snow and ice equipment as assigned.
b) ability to do general grounds care manually. This job entrails physical bending, kneeling, and/or squatting to pull weeds in flower beds, shrub beds, picking up trash, and other general grounds care tasks.
c) ability to life 40 lbs/1-person crew, and 80lbs/2 person crew for a variety of circumstances such as lifting tarps of leaves/grass clippings into the back of a truck or trailer, lifting small mowing equipment into a truck or trailer, lifting and moving various obstacles in the turf areas, and lifting and carrying week whips and backpack blowers.
a) ability to dig holes and/or trenches manually or with power equipment. This job entails using shovels and/or power trenchers.
b) ability to perform detail work for installs and/or service work.
a) ability to manually plant trees or shrubs, grade, lay sod, construct various types of retaining walls, construct rock/mulch beds and other landscape tasks.
The above descriptions are required for this job during an average work week consisting of 8-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, typically April through October. Seasonal snow and ice positions available outside of growing season.
