Job Description

  • Provide and maintain an outstanding customer experience that can only be found at Al’s Garden and Home for all guests who enter the retail location.
  • Demonstrate and communicate accurate knowledge of garden accessories/hard goods and where they are located.  
  • Assist Visual Merchandising with merchandise displays and cross-merchandising.
  • Work closely with Buyer for product needs and ensure all areas are full and product is tagged appropriately; organize and maintain back stock and address defective merchandise.
  • Ensure sufficient and accurate signage is in the Garden Accessories/Hard Goods department.
  • Develop knowledge of other departments to offer cross-departmental customer service
  • Ability to perform all duties of cashier and operations teams
  • Perform keyholder functions such as completing all store opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. 
  • Embrace a safety culture of injury and accident prevention by following safety policies and procedures.
  • Achieve daily goals as communicated by the store management.
  • Assist with all other related tasks or duties as assigned by store management
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures

 
Job Requirements
Knowledge of garden accessory merchandise or the willingness to seek and learn product.

Forklift and skid steer certification needed.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Knowledge of computer software: Excel, Word, POS system.

Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutions, and to effectively supervise the work of other associates.

Flexibility and adaptability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends with overtime during busy peak seasons.

Physical Demands:

This job requires the ability to work standing, walking, bending, and lifting 50 + lbs. continuously throughout the day.

Work Environment:

This job can operate on the sales floor, indoor and outdoor, and in an office environment as business requires.
