Job Description

 We are a growing garden maintenance company in the Seattle, WA area looking for gardeners with a strong work ethic to join our team. We have been steadily growing for 18 years! Gardening with us, you'll perform a wide array of work while enjoying some beautiful estates that range in size from 50 acres to postage size stamp lots. Upon successful completion of one year of service, Cambium will purchase a round trip airline ticket for the employee, anywhere in the continental United States as well as $250 signing bonus after 6 months of full time employment. (Some restrictions apply)

We are searching for skilled gardeners who love working out of doors, who can keep good spirits in wet cold weather, who can follow direction and make good decisions, who are responsible, detail oriented and caring. Ours crews are built around 2 -3 person teams so compatibility and teamwork are essential. You would tend to 3 -5 gardens per day working from 7:30 to roughly 4. All Crew members travel together in Cambium vehicles. 

Daily tasks include: weeding, watering, deadheading annuals in flower beds and containers, perennial care, shrub care (includes shearing laurel hedges), tree care up to 15', air sweeping of all hard surfaces, lawn mowing and edging, cultivating soils, etc. 

Seasonal tasks include: mulching/composting garden beds, pressure washing stone/concrete/wood surfaces, irrigation start up and winterization, container switch outs, bedding plant installations, winter pruning of trees and shrubs

Skill sets we would like to add to our teams: pruning experience or certificate/classes in pruning, excellent plant ID for PNW plants commonly used in the garden and how to care for them in a seasonal setting, ability to be organized and detail oriented, able to follow direction, track receipts and maintain adequate notes about materials usage and garden progress.

To work with us you must be able to lift 60 pounds and on occasion, up to 80 pounds, perform gardening type work for sustained periods, and have a good attitude while working in a wide range of weather conditions. Two years of residential garden maintenance experience is preferred - though we will consider lesser experience with a willingness to be trained. 

These are full time opportunities (40 hours per week) with year round employment. Comprehensive health and vision insurance package with full time status after 60 day probation period. Also paid vacation (PTO), paid holidays, paid sick time (in accordance with the City of Seattle guidelines) and a matching 401K up to 4%.

Ability to identify common garden and landscape weeds and remove them.
Hedge shearing and pruning skills.
Ability to lift 60 to 80 pounds consistently for long periods of time.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather types.
Attention to detail for weeding, cleaning job sites, personal appearance, design aspects and trends in the garden.
