Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in beautiful Sarasota, Florida has an immediate opening on their Horticulture team for an experienced Gardens Horticulturist. Nestled on subtropical Sarasota Bay, Selby Gardens is the most biologically diverse botanical garden, per acre, in the world. The gardens are an evolving landscape consisting of historical trees, rare collections plants, and seasonal exhibits that transform the immersive experience of visitors. Candidates will be responsible for the complete care of a portion of the outdoor space and will work directly with the Gardens Manager, collaborate with other Horticulturists, and supervise a team of dedicated volunteers to maintain the living collections as well as contribute to the designs of seasonal displays and exhibitions. This is an exciting and dynamic time to be a member of the Selby Gardens team, as we are embarking on a $98 million Master Plan that will include a new greenhouse and displayhouse complex. We have also recently adopted another local institution, Historic Spanish Point, which will create an additional campus for Selby Gardens. The successful candidate must be flexible, productive, accountable, good at managing his/her time, focused on strict quality controls, and a team player.
