CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN 

SUMMARY

Adaptive Green Inc. is hiring a Foreman for our construction and development business in New York City. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining the full suite of Adaptive Green products such as green roofs, storm water management systems, outdoor amenities, and solar photovoltaic integrations.  This role is your opportunity to develop and define a growing segment within the green industry with an award-winning high-growth company. The construction foreman position performs responsibilities involving physical labor and technical skill where Adaptive Green is needed, whether it is an existing job-site or a new project job-site.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead crew to complete specific projects.
  • Oversee training of new crew members.
  • Communicating to project managers/ supervisors/ field manager.
  • Reading plans and specs
  • Ensuring quality work and correct practices.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Keep job sites clean.
  • Must be able and willing to work alongside crew.
  • Planning and staying on timeline.
  • Travel is required
  • Work effectively on a team
  • Perform general labor as assigned
  • Take direction from Project Manager
  • When required leading crews up to 1 to 8.
  • Can manage large scope projects. Run a crew with 4 - 8 workers and when required, at least 1 sub trade.
  • Can perform all the duties of a skilled construction foreman.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Client interface—must communicate clearly and professionally with clients as warranted
  • Ability to drive and operate a forklift. Certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to drive a vehicle to job site
  • Have the skill sets to perform at the highest quality level at least 5 of the following (but not limited to) components:
  • Landscaping and commercial plant installation
  • Custom metal edge installation
  • Custom planter installation
  • Irrigation systems
  • Carpentry and metalwork
  • Concrete paver installation and leveling
  • Loose laid drainage layers and roofing products
  • High volume soil installations
  • Hardscape layout and leveling
  • Compacted aggregate and stonework
  • Experience with power tools
  • Reading construction drawings and landscape designs
  • Layouts
  • Take-offs
  • Punchlist and close out procedures
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated; perseverance and creativity in getting the job done.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving.
  • Ability to travel as needed

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and familiarity using mobile apps is necessary.
  • Familiarity with all trade tools

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise trade crew and 1-2 subcontractors

 

Training Requirements

  • OSHA 30 & Site Safety Training (SST) 10
  • Driver’s License
  • US Work Authorization 

 

Physical Demands
  • Heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, grasping; 
  • Potential for overtime and weekend work.

 

Compensation : Salary $65,000
