Job Description

Daily Duties Reports to:            þ Production Director

Special Projects Reports to:      þ President & Account Managers                  

Responsible for:                       þ Enhancement Crews, Equipment & Enhancement Work Orders

Job Duties:

§ Responsible for scheduling, managing & QC of enhancement landscaping projects

§ Recruiting & assigning labor force

§ Training of labor force with direction of Production Director

§ Scheduling of Crew/labor, equipment, & work flow based upon work order instructions and/or maintenance contract requirements

§ Survey and assess designated projects and jobsites, Pre & Post completion

§ Plan jobs in an effective manner to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness

§ Use and safely operate tools/equipment used in landscape industry (skid steers, loaders, trucks & trailers)

§ Inspect, handle, and manage transport of nursery & hardscape materials when applicable

§ Standard landscape enhancement/installation (tree/shrub/flower planting, turf replacement, mulch installation, hardscape installation) operations completed per Cornerstone Partners Hort. Srvcs. Guidelines & Expectations

§ Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop + equipment, trucks + trailers

§ Post-season inspection (5S System), inventory and winter prep (cleaning, inventory, greasing) of summer equipment and tools

§ Manage & complete daily paperwork tracking of job time and material costs

§ Wear appropriate uniform & personal protective equipment at all times while enforcing the same on crew members

§ Comply with & enforce all company policies/regulations

§ Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

§ Communicate with customers in a professional, polite and courteous manner

§ Lead snow & ice removal organization including but not limited to: Crew/labor, equipment, & sub-contractor assignment, snow equipment pre-season preparation (mounting, testing, loading, greasing).  Manage & perform snow & ice removal operations.

§ Other projects and duties as deemed necessary by Production Director.


 
Job Requirements
Requirements:

 Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
 Certified Landscape Technician-Exterior (CLT-E)
 Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) Certification
 Illinois Pesticide Applicator License
 Minimum 1-2 years of industry experience
 Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, perennials & flowers
 Ability to read and interpret plans (blueprints) and specifications
 Physically fit with strong stamina
 Basic measurement and calculation skills
 Ability to follow safe working procedures
 Excellent observation & training skills and a strong attention to detail
 Good analytical and problem-solving skills
 Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), English & Spanish
 Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
 Speak, read & write English
 Must possess a valid driver’s license
 Computer skills

Work Conditions:

 Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials
 Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through typical work day
 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
 Requires good manual dexterity
 Excellent stamina is required
 Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
 Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, snow, dust, noise, and cold
 Flexible working hours ranging from early (5:30/6a.m.) & including occasional weekend work
