Job Description

JMT is seeking a Landscape Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate must have 3 years of experience in horticulture, pesticide application, vegetation management, turf management and/or supervision of construction and landscape installations. The area of responsibility will primarily take place in locations within Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties.   

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and perform site reviews and environmental analysis 
  • Provide Technical Recommendations for Vegetation Management
  • Provide Recommendations for Vegetation Establishment  and compliance with SHA  Standard Specifications
  • GIS Data Collection  and tracking of landscape assets
  • Assist with development of Specifications for Vegetation Establishment and Management 
  • Inspect Sites in the field 
  • Update inspection documentation daily to ensure accurate and detailed record-keeping
Job Requirements
Required Skills:

Excellent at working independently

Excellent organizational skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Familiarity with operation of Windows based computers and MS Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel

Certified Pesticide Applicator preferred

Licensed Tree Care Expert preferred

Certified Arborist preferred

Spanish language proficiency preferred

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience with plant identification and inspection of installations

Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation required, mileage will be reimbursed

Familiarity with industry standards for planting installations and vegetation management

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
