Job Description
This position designs, estimates and sells landscapes and outdoor living spaces for clients. You are the main customer contact for landscaping, hardscaping & general building projects. In this position you will clearly communicate contract specifications you have discussed with client to crew leaders and/or production managers in detailed job packets. This position is responsible for selling work to new and current clients, follow-up and follow-through to maintain positive customer relations, to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This person knows, communicates and teaches the vision, mission and core values of Back to Nature to all staff.

Job Duties:
- Design and sell landscaping, hardscaping, outdoor living and general building projects.
- Prepare drawings, plant palettes, product specifications/colors, outdoor living spaces, hardscapes, water features, and digital imagery and presenting designs to clients in a timely and effective manner using hand drawings and/or design software.
- Follow SOP for estimating, selling contracts, and scheduling.
- Develop long-term design plans to meet customers projected needs and enhance overall beauty.
- To seek and bring to the sales team’s attention opportunities for maintenance contracts and project
upgrades and pass to appropriate parties as needed.
- Prepares and presents estimates and proposals in a complete, timely, and professional manner.
- All contracts over $15,000 must be approved prior to presenting to customer.
- Capture clients full expectation of project and design and formulate detailed client / crew notes on each project to fully understand contractual obligations and customer preferences on final contract.
- Follow the SOP for subcontractors, manage and schedule subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines.
- Develop very detailed job packets for building permits and to hand off to crew to complte the work.
- Performs and meets any commitments made to customers as agreed upon. Do what you say you are going to do.
- Develops strong positive relationships with customers based upon clear and frequent
communication, mutual trust and ability to meet the customer’s needs.
- Will effectively communicate with management and owner regarding production rates. Work with management to develop strategies and ensure pricing will maintain or exceed targeted profit margins.
- Ensures frequent, effective, professional, and timely communication with customers 4/10 rule.
- Manage LS crews on sold projects and precure nessasary materials for the project.
- Communicates and ensures all sold contracts are scheduled and completed on time within contract specifications and are billed appropriately.
- Assist managment team as needed on schedules and daily operations.
- Available to answer any questions crews or management have about projects.
- Take a leadership role in managing design services and processes.
- Ensures production is on-time with your proposal (actual hours <= estimated hours.)
- Inspects projects and locates problems before the customer brings them to our attention, communicates problems and concerns to customers and/or management and aids in resolving.
- Immediately reports to the owner and/or other managers any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost or any other factor so appropriate adjustments can be made to maximize the end result.
- Escalates job or customer issues to owner when unable to resolve. Any and all discounts must be approved by owner.
- Works closely with office to make sure all contract administration and billing is timely and accurate for all projects sold.

- Use Cat inspect weekly to inspect assigned vehicle.
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard and office areas by following the 5 S’ (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Enforce appropriate personal protective (PPE) equipment at all times
- Complete understanding and utilization of company's software program (LMN, Cad, sketchup, vizterra.) - Training will be provided.
- Complete understanding and utilization of google drive, gmail, and google calendar.
- Assist from time to time in crew duties of maintenance and landscaping projects.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Completing all assigned training courses and takes initiative in other learning opportunities.
- Work in accordance with and enforce all local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Proper documentation of all accidents, incidents, hazards, and damage for tracking and correction.
- Represents Company at various events & organizations throughout the year.
- Maintains positive relations with other companies in the industry and related industries.
- Ensures compliance to the Company's Best Practices and develops and recommends improved work methods and industry best practices to the team.
- Assists in taking before and after photos and getting them to correct folders for marketing opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Completion of high school, GED, some college, vocational or technical training
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience In the landscaping industry
- Complete understanding of proper installation of plants, hardscape installation and IRC building codes for general construction projects.
- Complete understanding of weed and plant ID.
- Ability to produce high end designs.
- Complete understanding and utilization of google drive, gmail, and google calendar.
- Ability to work both independently without supervision, and as part of a team.
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and to carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Must maintain a phone capable of text messaging, phone calls, emailing, application downloading and have it on their person at all times in functioning condition.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license w/ good driving record.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally, in person, over the phone and in writing via text message and email.
- Must possess solid work habits such as maintaining a clean and safe worksite/workstation and present themselves in a professional and workmanlike manner.
- Must be prompt and reliable in attendance.
- Must maintain a productive agreeable and respectful attitude in all interactions with customer, vendor and company personnel.
- Must be able to work flexible hours with occasional weekend work and when it snows.
