Britescape, a gardening and landscape lighting company, has an outstanding opportunity in our Garden Services department for a permanent, full-time Lead Gardener.

The Lead Gardener is the critical link between the Garden Services Manager, gardens and the crew. This position is responsible for all daily on-site operations of clientele base including, but not limited to: leadership of crew; coordination of work to be done; quality of work performed; observation, reporting and treatment of landscape issues such as pests, diseases and irrigation; appropriate tasks for season and garden.

Position Description:
-Lead small crew in maintaining every aspect of the residential landscape including, but not limited to, weeding, mulching, mowing, blowing, pruning, planting, and irrigation and lighting troubleshooting/repair.
-Prioritize and manage projects under time constraints and meeting deadlines while still maintaining high standards.
-Make recommendations to clients on garden needs.
-Safely work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and good sense of humor.
-Safely and responsibly drive large company vehicles to and from sites.
-Lead by example when it comes to safety and ensure crew is following appropriate standards and guidelines.
-Flexibility in scheduling and ability to perform many different tasks.
-Ensure the completion of daily maintenance, special projects, appropriate paperwork, and customer requests.

Job Requirements
Position Qualifications:
-Excellent communication skills, team player and positive attitude.
-2+ years of gardening experience, preferably with supervisory experience and in the Northwest.
-Passion for horticulture and working outdoors.
-Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, crouch and bend repetitively as workload needs, work on hillsides and slopes, etc.
-Must have a clean driving record.
-Must be CPH or EcoPro certified within 1 year of employment as the Field Crew Lead.
-Must demonstrate via written tests and/or field tests the following: Knowledge of proper horticultural practices, familiarity with common Northwest landscape plants, familiarity with irrigation systems and controllers.
