Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Associate is responsible for supporting and implementing a wide variety of marketing, communications and community relations projects, including project management, partnership, sponsorship and event support and the development and production of collateral materials, all while communicating in a voice consistent with the company’s values and culture.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Gather information for, and help write and edit creative and compelling content for case studies, website copy, press releases, E-mail campaigns, marketing collateral, digital advertising, and social media, including editorial calendar.
  2. Update Garden-Ville and Eco Academy web content via WordPress and troubleshoot issues.
  3. Serve as liaison between non-profits and school contacts and Garden-Ville staff and marketing department to help facilitate the Garden-Ville and Eco Academy fundraiser program.
  4. Assist with the development, editing and production of Eco Academy curriculum.
  5. Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team on design content for collateral both internal and external for company, including graphics, slideshow decks, videos, audio files and other multimedia pieces.
  6. Prepare “recap” reports that include marketing metrics and campaign results.
  7. Collaborate with other members of marketing team to meet internal deadlines and complete projects in a timely, effective manner.
  8. Arrange and execute the collection of collateral with vendors and in-house staff, including photo and video shoots.
  9. Occasionally serve as photographer or videographer during the process of content creation.
  10. Know best practices and the public image of the company, particularly company messaging and online brand.
  11. Assist with tradeshow and offsite event preparation, be available to staff events as needed, help with event lead follow up.
  12. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as journalism, marketing, public relations or mass communications
  • At least one year of experience writing (AP Style preferred), proofreading and creating an editorial calendar in a field such as marketing, advertising, public relations or journalism
  • Relevant college coursework or portfolios may substitute for up to one year of required experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to provide a portfolio of work, including writing, design and video samples
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative
  • Reliable transportation


PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Photoshop and InDesign
  • Photography/videography experience
  • Familiarity with iOS and Apple computers
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistics relevant to social media and digital marketing, and adjust content accordingly
  • Experience with social media management platform, such as Hootsuite
  • Experience with WordPress or similar content management software

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class C driver’s license
  • Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on a current motor vehicle report (MVR), with no serious accidents or traffic violations
