Job Description
  1. Responsible for completing all Plant Health Care (PHC) operations including but not limited to:

    1. Digital scheduling of all PHC work orders in accordance with time-sensitive application windows

    2. Generating and sending client schedule alerts via email

    3. Completing application logs and application history records

    4. Complying with all IL Department of Agriculture regulations in applying pesticides

    5. Complying with all pesticide manufacturer label instructions

    6. Pesticide inventory management

  2. Calibration of spray equipment

  3. Maintenance of spray equipment and materials  including but not limited to:

    1. Neutralizing spray tanks post-application

    2. Triple-rinsing pesticide containers in preparation for recycling

    3. Servicing spray pumps and motors at recommended intervals

  4. Scheduling, training, and management of labor assistants

Job Requirements
Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
Illinois Pesticide License:
Minimum: Operator - General Standards
Preferred: Applicator - Ornamentals
Minimum 3 years of industry experience
Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, perennials & flowers
Physically fit with strong stamina:
ability to lift 50lbs.
ability to stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time
Basic measurement and calculation skills
Ability to follow safe working procedures
Excellent observation skills and strong attention to detail
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), English & Spanish
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Must possess a valid driver’s license:
Minimum: C License
Preferred: CDL License
Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office programs, Google platform, smartphone applications)

Work Conditions:

The job requires the ability to work safely with pesticides, small engine equipment, and materials
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Requires good manual dexterity
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, snow, dust, noise, and cold
Flexible working hours ranging from:
Early start (5:00/6:00 a.m.)
Over-night (when weather or site conditions dictate)
Weekends (when weather or site conditions dictate)
