We are seeking a Plant Health Manager to monitor and oversee all the aspects of the Plant Health department. You will be involved with pest management, disease control, weed control, planting media management, fertilizer management, irrigation control assistance, safety & some nursery production responsibilities. You will also be responsible for departmental budgetary management, regulatory compliance, recordkeeping and reporting.

We are seeking individuals with:

·       The ability to problem solve and collaborate in a team setting

·       High level of motivation, who are self-driven

·       Good communicator and leader with excellent communication skills

·       Bilingual English/Spanish is a preference

·       Four year degree and related experience

*     Pesticide Applicator license


What you will be doing:

·       Reviewing and monitoring the irrigation & fertility system every day

·       Assuring compliance by the entire facility with the Worker Protection Standard & Global Harmonization System

·       Monitoring budget and implementing action plans to correct/adjust any variances

·       Reporting to regulatory agencies & entities, working with the General Manager

·       Interact & network with all regulatory agencies and entities, for development of BMP and the common good of the company

·       Managing the workload requirements, schedules, and availability of equipment

·       Regularly focusing on quality improvement of plants and product, making suggestions as needed

·       Working with other Plant Health Managers in other locations to analyze and resolve problems, assist workers with common challenges, and establish BMPs

·       Ensuring processes abide by our high safety standards

·       Holding key responsibilities for the Safety Committee

·       Managing a Plant Health staff, developing their skills & encouraging personal growth, fostering continuous improvement

·       Demonstrating a high level of reliability, responsibility, and ownership of the Plant Health processes
