Job Description

  • Promote and maintain an outstanding customer experience that can only be found at Als Garden and Home for all guests who enter the retail location.
  • Understand and have knowledge of our plant material and help determine where it is displayed on the tables.
  • Assist customers with possible plant combinations and design tips for seasonal plantings.
  • Work closely with growing facility for product needs and ensure all areas are full and product is tagged appropriately.
  • Oversee ordering product for the Annuals plant department and complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Annuals plant department which includes plants, tables and floor space.
  • Annuals Lead is the steward of product. It is the Annuals Lead responsibility to have the finest product in the industry. Develop methodology that ensures all products in all assigned areas receive water, nutrients, maintenance, stocking and other care activities.
  • Coordinate with the Receiving team on receiving product orders, the distribution of the plants into the nursery and inspecting incoming orders for quality.
  • Responsible for day to day customer service procedures (hold tags, will call, customer transfers, customer request forms, and deliveries).
  • Provide feedback to the growing facility to ensure all customer requests are filled in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for working in coordination with the Visual Merchandising Team on end caps and product display.
  • Train Team Members in a manner that delivers proper product knowledge and develops superior customer service.
  • Embrace a safety culture of injury and accident prevention by following safety policies and procedures.
  • Achieve daily goals as communicated by the store management.
  • Assist with all other related tasks or duties as assigned by store management.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of annuals or the willingness to seek and learn product.
Excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of computer software: Excel, Word, POS system.
Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutions, and to effectively supervise the work of other associates.
Flexibility and adaptability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends with overtime during busy peak seasons.


Physical Demands

This job requires the ability to work standing, walking, bending, and lifting 50 + lbs. continuously throughout the day.

Work Environment

This job can operate on the sales floor, indoor and outdoor, and in an office environment as business requires.
